The Anthropological Survey of India and Raja Rammohan Roy Pustakalaya Pratishthan, an institution working under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, are organizing the 46th Capacity Building Programme of National Library Mission (NML) for Public Library Personnel from 10th to 14th August, 2024 at Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur.

The formal inauguration of the programme will be held on 11th August, 2024 at 03.00 pm at Pt. Sundarlal Sharma Pustakalaya, Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur. About 60 participants, mainly public library professionals from Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal and Maharashtra will participate in this training programme.

Nationwide 45 training programmes have been conducted so far in different parts of the country covering library automation software, quality infrastructure, resources, updated ICT tools and techniques, emerging trends, preservation & conservation of library resources and management of modern library services. More than 1900 professionals have been trained under this training programme.

The Capacity Building Training Programme is one of the components under National Library Mission (NML) which was launched in the year 2014 by the then President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee under Ministry of Culture, Government of India in pursuance of the recommendation of National Knowledge Commission to give sustained focus to the development of Libraries and Information Science sector.
